The title is primarily a joke on the FABULOOOOOOOOOOUUUUS job I did on the hair. Or rather the thing I did that sticks out the most. I still need a looooooot of work.
Anyway this a commission for Razeface or Mageraz Hope you like it you sexy noodle~ :A
Note's tone down on the flashy hair thing. Put in just enough to give it a three dimensional look. Practice cell shading with glowing edges for practice with light sources that are in close proximity to an object. Perform closer studies of others artwork.
yes! now this is an example of something that should amaze the millions of bright young artists out their in the world! the texture, colors, shading, everything its just brilliant with eye raping awesomeness i cant even describe a million ways to express how i feel about how you drew this it reminds me of an old ancient chinese dragon from china only this one has outstanding amazing color mane and skin texture but overal love the crazy background you made of this drawing and the bevel text its just perfection all the way!! cant even described this any longer then how perfect the bolded colorful word text "raze" stands out but yes great job i love it!!
This is pretty good, but there's a couple of things I want to point out. Light bounces and reflects all over the place everywhere, so to have the kind of light you have here is rare. What I think would really help out fleshing the character out and give more life and realism in your piece would be some stronger backlighting. - Like a soft blue-ish glow that is bounced back onto his shadowy side. You already have it a bit in your image, but it's the same colour as the character itself and it's also very faint, so it's hard to discern unless you stare at it up close. Reflected light is very often a different colour to the light source, it depends on what it is bounced from in the enviroment, but very often soft blue will do very well.
The horn facing us has no shading on it at all as far as I can tell, even if the mane behind and in front of it is shaded.
I really like the light spots on the hair, although you could have toned them down at the back, and maybe added them to the eyebrows as well? They look so un-shiny in comparison, when all they want to do is *sparkle*...
Other than that I really like this picture, background is nice, the paws/hands being my favourite of the piece, - I love the soft shading on them. Overall you manage to make the character look nice and solid with good lines and lovely shading.
Thanks alot. Yeah I had alot of that in mind when doing the piece and reflected light is always the colour of what it bounces off of but the question I asked myself was what was it bouncing off of and why would it hit his back if the only light source was being mostly hoarded by Raze. Ultimately I decided on something very subtle and quick. xD
And yes I didn't shade it for many reasons. The hair was covering it and also, I had no idea how to give off the texture of the horns. SO MUCH TO LEARN! D:
And yes there are many things I forgot in this picture. xD It's kinda sad. x3
And thank you bout to post another one. It's definitely not going to have the same impact because the character is kinda plain but hope you'll like it too. xD
